STEVEN: I don't listen to you. I pretend to understand but I'm really just saying what I think you want to hear. So
from now on I'm going to try my best to listen more because I do love you and
am interested in learning about every detail, about the complicated splendor that is you.
ROBIN: Oh.
STEVEN: I want us to get back together, but I can see why taking this time might be good for us. So, I'm not mad.
ROBIN: Sometimes time apart is healthy.
STEVEN: You're right. Well, that's what I came here to say. Look, I've got to get back to the office.
ROBIN: So, are you doing anything tomorrow?
STEVEN: I'm just going to cook myself dinner and watch a movie. "Sleepless in Seattle" is on cable.
ROBIN: Really?
STEVEN: If you're around you should drop by and check out the new apartment.
ROBIN: Okay, maybe I will.
ROBIN: Oh.
STEVEN: I want us to get back together, but I can see why taking this time might be good for us. So, I'm not mad.

| I do love you | Realmente te amo. Notar el uso del auxiliar do. Este auxiliar no sería necesario (el protagonista podría haber dicho 'I love you') pero se agrega para enfatizar la acción. |

| to learn about something | aprender algo. Notar el uso de la preposición about. |
| to want somebody to do something | querer que alguien haga algo. Por ejemplo, 'I want us to get back together' se podría traducir como 'Quiero que nos juntemos nuevamente'. |

| are you doing anything tomorrow? | Vas a hacer algo mañana? El uso del presente continuo es muy común para hablar de planes futuros. |
| on cable | en el cable, en la televisión por cable. Notar el uso de la preposición on y fíjese que no se usa the. Lo mismo vale para la expresión on TV. Por ejemplo: 'What's on TV today?' |

CABLE GUY: Not really. That man is devoted to you. You know I'm probably crossing a boundary telling you this, but he's really crazy about you.
| a friend of Steven's | uno de los amigos de Steven. Si decimos simplemente 'Steven's friend', significa que Steven tiene un solo amigo. Por eso debe usarse esta frase. |
| to be proud of something/somebody | estar orgulloso de algo/alguien. Notar el uso de la preposición of. Sin embargo, se usa in en la frase verbal to have pride in something, tener orgullo de/por algo/alguien. |

STEVEN: What? I never –
POLICE OFFICER: Please put our hands on the table. Please follow my instructions. Hands on the table! Hands behind your back!
POLICE OFFICER #2: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney one will be provided for you. Do you understand?
STEVE: This is all a mistake. I didn't accept any stolen goods.
STEVEN: Uh… I'm Steven Bartowsky. What's going on?
POLICE OFFICER: You are under arrest.
