Being a teacher
(Sent by Paqui Cara Ruiz, a student from Motril, Granada, Spain)
Being a teacher has both advantages and disadvantages.
On the plus side, teachers have many vacations and holidays. For instance, in the months of July and August teachers don't work, and during Easter and Christmas there are a lot of free days.
Another point is that the work hours are good. Teachers have free time in the afternoon when they can do different activities that will help them in their work.
All in all teachers can feel good about what they do, because they help children learn and grow.
However, for every plus there is a minus. One thing is the low salary. Another thing is the stress of working with children everyday. Then teachers have to take their work home, and take extra courses of professional development to adapt to new methods of teaching and learning.
Last of all teachers have to deal with family because the child's education should be shared at home and at school.
In conclusion, I think that the teacher's job is very gratifying because despite the disadvantages teachers get to work with children, especially in the infant stage, watching the children learn and grow is the best advantage of all and above all I'm glad to known that I'm useful to them, because at the same time I teach but I also learn from them.
