The world in the next 100 years
(Sent by Gisela Seynave, a student from Bahía Blanca, Argentina)
Nowadays, our society is undergoing constant changes. The main reason is that men want to improve day by day in order to have a better life. However, sometimes they do not think about the
consequences of these human lives. I imagine the world in the next 100 years with positive and negative changes.
On the one hand, I think that there will be positive changes, such as an increase in medicine, in social care, in the scientific field. Besides, the advance in technology will allow people to be more
informed, the use of mobile phones and the Internet will help people to be permanently connected between each other. What is more, I imagine inventions such as machines doing the housework and the
man's work.
On the other hand, I imagine that the world in the next 100 years will have negative changes. As I have said, much more work will be done by machines, leading to high unemployment, so there will be a
small number of hardworking rich and a vast majority of poor. Furthermore, with inventions like cell phones it is more and more difficult to escape from work. Besides, as countries want to show their
power, there will be wars, leading to deaths.
In conclusion, I think that we live more and more busy and much more conflicted lives than people did 30, 40 or 50 years ago. The changes that society has undergone over the last decades have
contributed in many ways to the rise of technology in our world today. However, we should take into account the use of this progress since if people do not take care of it, the world in the next 100
years will be a complete disaster.
