My last birthday

Last year in my birthday I was far from home, I was living in San Diego, CA, working as a teacher. I only had few friends because I had arrived two weeks before, it was a great birthday though.

The woman I was living with decided to invite all my friends to our place and prepare a huge barbecue for all of us, we had a really nice time.

At school, my students learnt how to sing the Happy Birthday song in my language and they sang it for me, that was lovely, and all my friends phoned me from my country.

My mum sent me a magazine I like and some Spanish food, and my dad sent me the most beautiful earrings and necklace ever.

Although I was so far away from home all those things made me feel as if I was back home, at least for one day!
